A big thanks to Garrett for bringing the registration problem to my attention via a PM over at ECF. Tejas Vapin is not sending new passwords to those who have recently register for the site. Likewise it is also not sending new passwords via the “lost password” request.” I’m not quite sure when this issue started. To make sure everyone is good to go I’ll send out emails to last few that registered and ask if everything went OK.
I’ve exhausted all the simple remedies that could have fixed this without success. Now I’m having to dig a little deeper because it’s likely a problem in the database. Until then if you need help registering please email me at Lika (at) Tejas (no spaces) Vapin (dot) com.
Meanwhile I’ve implemented a workaround that should allow registrations without issue. At the top to the site in the navigation bar click “Members” and then click “Register.” Or, just follow this link.
Using that form to register will allow you to choose your own password without TV having to send one to you. If you use the register link on the bottom right sidebar TV will attempt to send a password and as of right now you’ll never get it.
To avoid confusion I’ve decided to remove the register/login/logout options from the sidebar. You can still use these services via the “Members” menu in the navigation at the top of the site. Once this issue is resolved I’ll put it back because I realize it’s more convenient logging in from the sidebar.
Until this is fixed you’ll still need to contact me personally if you lose/forget your current password. I’ll be able to reset it and send you a new one that you can login with and change to your own.
