I’ve exhausted all the simple remedies that could have fixed this without success.  Now I’m having to dig a little deeper because it’s likely a problem in the database.  Until then if you need help registering please email me at Lika (at) Tejas (no spaces) Vapin (dot) com.

Meanwhile I’ve implemented a workaround that should allow registrations without issue.  At the top to the site in the navigation bar click “Members” and then click “Register.”  Or, just follow this link.

Using that form to register will allow you to choose your own password without TV having to send one to you.  If you use the register link on the bottom right sidebar TV will attempt to send a password and as of right now you’ll never get it.

To avoid confusion I’ve decided to remove the register/login/logout options from the sidebar.  You can still use these services via the “Members” menu in the navigation at the top of the site.  Once this issue is resolved I’ll put it back because I realize it’s more convenient logging in from the sidebar.

Until this is fixed you’ll still need to contact me personally if you lose/forget your current password. I’ll be able to reset it and send you a new one that you can login with and change to your own.

The forum is nothing fancy like ECF or Vapers Forum since it doesn’t use vBulletin.  This is just a WordPress plugin but I think it will serve its purpose for this site.  I thought it would be a good idea to have a central place where meetings and other stuff could be planned out.  Right now there is also no way to consolidate the chapter forums under another main forum.  That should change in a few weeks as the plugin will be upgraded to include sub forums.  Let me know what you guys think.

1. To keep out the spammers – there will be no third party spam prevention on this site.  If a user is not registered they can’t post.  I don’t like having to enter verification codes I and I doubt our members do either.  It’s not necessary as long as every registers.

2. To stay in line with the original idea of privacy on our Tejas Vapin’ ECF forum.  While we can’t prevent anyone from viewing or even joining the TV site we can limit only members to post comments.  Therefore, keeping out unnecessary and unwanted frivolous comments.

Note – When registering please include your location (city and state) in the Biographical Info area.  Currently there is not a location field but I will try to add this feature before the launch date.  Also be sure to use your ECF nick name as your display so that we can recognize from place to place.  Fill out profile as completely as possible.  If you have a website please include the URL in your profile as long as it is family safe.  If you don’t mind please give us a link back to Tejas Vapin on your site.

Dallas, Texas – A little about myself (the actual bio is not necessary but would be appreciated).

The official launch date for Tejas Vapin’s website will be July 1st, 2009.  It’s been a while in the making but we’re so close we can taste it.  This launch date will also coincide with other major forward steps for our group.  I plan to have the TV Store up and running as well.  To start off our product launch we’ll have hats and t-shirts featuring Mixology’s winning designs.  At that time we’ll also present Mix with a prize from the store.

In the meantime I want to work on a membership drive to up the numbers in our group.  I know there are lots of Texas vapers out there that don’t know about us yet.  I’ll be posting a new thread in ECF to promote the site.  Hopefully we can keep that thread alive so that new members can find it easily.  I’m not suggesting improper forum etiquette but if a few of us pop in to say hello and welcome our fellow Texans it would be big help in showing our hospitality.

Please visit our social group at the Electronic Cigarette Forum also known by its acronym,  ECF.  This site will be built out as the  need arises and the communty organizes.  For now it merely serving as a place holder for future growth.
